Vietnam Veterans Day
Coalition of States Council
OPEN LETTER TO THE
CONGRESS, PRESIDENT AND CITIZENS
UNITED STATES OF AMERICA
INVITATION TO CREATE A LEGACY
Dear members of Congress, Mr. President and Fellow Citizens:
You are invited to a once in a lifetime opportunity, please support and cosponsor the attached proposed legislation to establish March 29th as the national Vietnam Veterans Day.
You will help deliver on behalf of the nation and your fellow citizens an overdue expression of gratitude and respect to those who earned it while serving our country, through great personal and family sacrifice, and at a significant time in our nation’s history.
This act of good conscience was introduced in Ohio by Jim Rosin and Paul Hauke and will leave a legacy of care, presenting and preserving for current and future generations the values embraced and cherished by our fellow citizens in this great country, and protected by our nation’s defenders with loving and dedicated support from their families.
With unwavering dedication, honor and pride, generation upon generation of those who serve in our military, have placed themselves in harm’s way, have given their lives and have suffered both physical and emotional wounds delivering on that commitment.
We will leave a clear message of gratitude and respect to the “Greatest citizens of each of our nation’s generations: those who died defending our country, those who served, those who stand vigilant now and will in the future, their respective families, and the loving citizens who supported them and their loved ones while the defenders were in harm’s way and embraced them and their families when they came home and made it their lifetime duty to help them all heal”.
Let this be a reminder and a promise that “Never again will a generation of citizens and veterans abandon those who served or are serving their country or their respective families”
